Tobogganing on the quiet side of Sölden

The quiet side of Sölden is on the opposite side of the valley from the ski area. Away from the hustle and bustle, this is where you will find your happiness. Over a distance of 4.5 km, you climb 550 metres in altitude and pass through enchanting coniferous forests before one of the rarest alpine meadows in the entire Ötztal awaits you. Once you've reached the top, sample the delicious Tyrolean cuisine and then toboggan down to the valley.

Gaislachkogel – Sölden Toboggan rund

If you have a ski pass, you should definitely try out the incredible sledging experience down from the middle station of the Gaislachkogelbahn gondola! The route covers a legendary 7.3 km and is even open for night-time sledging on Wednesdays. You can really build up some speed here - no tour-goers or pedestrians can get in your way!

Hochgurgl – Pill Toboggan run

This toboggan run starts out in the mountains from the Hochgurgelbahn mountain station at an unbelievable 2,160m altitude. From here you will race downhill over 3 km - with lots of twists and turns! You can also enjoy skiing under the stars once a week with snow guaranteed!

Sledging at the Stallwiesalm

Set off straight from the resort! Walk for two hours via the Windaustraße, Sonnenwinklweg trail and Granbichlstraße up to the Stallwiesalm. Once there, you will be rewarded with some homely mountain lodge cuisine - and then it’s time to race back down again! Sledges can be hired at the top - simply leave them at the collection point when you reach the bottom.

Some magnificent toboggan runs await in the Ötztal valley in particular such as the family-friendly run to the Feldringalm or the beginners’ track by the Piburger See lake. The website of the Ötztal tourist board contains all the toboggan runs and information at a glance.
